Paris Attacks: In Grief

2015-11-13 Paris Attackes

PeaceQuest stands in grief and solidarity with the victims of this terrible violence.  In the days to come, may our responses bring about healing and advance the cause of peace throughout the world.

We have shared a couple images here we found going viral on social media to share with you. The poem reminds us to also grieve for and recognize those who endure violence on a regular basis.

PeaceQuest Kingston will be having a meeting on the afternoon of Sunday November 15th to discuss how we can further act in response to this tragedy. Please contact us at 613.583.2569 if you would like to attend this meeting.

“You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean;

if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.”

– – Mahatma Gandhi

**A note about the poem below: This poem was written and posted by Karuna Ezara Parikh on facebook this morning. Karuna is not affiliated with PeaceQuest, but we felt the poem was quite thought provoking and worthy of sharing. We encourage people to show support and care for all victims of violence and hatred. After some discussion with the group we felt that we would change the first line to “It is not (just) Paris we should pray for”
