Join PeaceQuest, local students and residents to celebrate the promise of peace at our annual Peace Day picnic. Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September. The General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples. At the Isabel Turner branch from September 29th at 8:30 AM to sunset on November 11th, in partnership with The World Remembers, Kingston Frontenac Public Library will be broadcasting the 597,889 names of those killed in 1916 from Canada, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, France, Turkey, Italy, the Czech Republic, Australia, Slovenia, New Zealand and the British Indian Army.
