Mark your calendar. We have a booking for our Letter Writing-We Want Peace Social:

MONDAY NOVEMBER 30, 7 – 9 pm, ARTFUL DODGER, 1651 11TH AVENUE.

Materials will be provided.

We will be using the back rooms. There is no charge, as long as some of us order from the bar or restaurant. Thanks to Terri for recommending the Artful Dodger.

We decided at our meeting that the letters will be addressed to PM Justin Trudeau. So far, the following subjects have been suggested: a) Katimavik b) Prime Minister for Peace/negotiated settlements to conflicts c) the establishment of a Department of Peace

We also decided to follow the tried and true Amnesty model of providing letter writers with a list of facts out of which they can compose a letter. The advantage of this model is that letter-writers don’t have to be experts on the subject and that each letter will be unique.
